Why you should join the Information Marketing Association

Do you dream of having your own business… being your own boss… having total financial independence?

Yes, this does sound like that cheesy add you saw on TV last night.

No worries friend, I’m not going to sell you anything… except perhaps on an idea.  Go ahead, scroll down, you won’t find an order device here.

And no, I’m not going to ask you to give me any money.

But unless you already have all that you want, odds are very good you answered yes to my question.

If you’d like to have your own business, be your own boss and maybe even grow rich, but haven’t gotten past Go, I’m gonna guess you’re stalled.

Perhaps you’re afraid today’s economy presents too dicey a challenge.  Or maybe you lack confidence, or simply don’t know where to begin.

Whatever’s holding you back, there is something you need to know.

I’m talking about information marketing… the only sure route to wealth I know of… one that just about anyone’s cut out for. Because all you need to get started is a desire to share something you know moderately well.

Okay, I hear you and I agree.  It’s not that simple.  Yes, you’ll need some elbow grease.  And yes, you’ll need a blueprint to take your special knowledge public.

But compared to a traditional bricks and mortar business, like a franchise, a carpet cleaning operation, bookstore, you name it, getting an info-business up and running won’t require that much effort.

Besides, if it’s your baby who’s gonna do the hard work when the rubber hits the road… if not you?

What’s that?  You’re not an expert… no one’s interested in what you have to offer?

Not so.  That monkey on your back is nothing more than the social conditioning that started the day you left your mama’s womb.

Don’t believe me?  Just take a look at Dr. Maxwell Maltz’s classic PsychoCybernetics.  Or Cracking the Millionaire Code by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen.

And wrap your head around any of Dan Kennedy’s books or products.  You’ll find out you do have something of real value to say and to sell.

But don’t just take my word for it.  Do a web search on any topic.  You’ll find all kinds of people willing to stick their necks out and succeed.

You’ll find people who’ve taken their special knowledge and packaged it into ebooks, DVD courses, seminars and coaching.

And not only professionals like lawyers, dentists and chiropractors.  But people like you and me who’ve found success with information products about everyday hobbies like quilting, gunsmithing and even raising rabbits.

Need more inspiration?  Read or reread timeless classics like Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill or The Success System That Never Fails by W. Clement Stone.  And listen to a recording of The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale.

I know you’ve heard all this all before, but the most important thing is to start by doing something.

Start by putting your thoughts on paper.  That may be enough to springboard you past even the most stifling self-doubt… and will get you over the hurdle of “where do I start.”

Next, rub shoulders with like-minded entrepreneurs.  You’ll find them along with a comprehensive storehouse of actionable information at the Information Marketing Association or IMA.
